Travel Guide: Meeting Santa Claus in Chicago

Santa Claus, Christmas The most wonderful time of the year is here and kids everywhere are writing their Christmas lists to mail to Santa Claus at the North Pole! Instead of mailing the lists, Santa will be visiting Chicago throughout December to visit and to collect those lists. Head down to Haley Plaza where you will find Santa’s house in the city! Now though Dec. 20, you and your family can visit on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Santa will share his home in the plaza with the authentic Christkindmarket, a traditional German holiday market. Not only will you be able to visit Santa, but you can also enjoy native foods, crafts and shopping from more than 40 vendors.
On the weekends, wake up early to have breakfast with Santa at the Brookfield Zoo! Santa and Mrs. Clause will be at the Discovery Center on Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are required for this event, so make sure you purchase tickets now(plus, the cost includes zoo admission!) For zoo members, tickets are $29.95 for adults and $21.95 for children. For non-members, tickets are $49.95 for adults and $35.95 for children. Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Not only will you get to enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with Santa, but you will also have the opportunity to meet some furry friends.
Enjoy the views of the city when you visit Santa at 360 Chicago. Santa will be visiting on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 23, as well as on Christmas Eve, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Have your picture taken with Santa as you soar above the clouds at almost 1,000 feet over the city! The views are stunning, and Santa will also be handing out special gifts, including a child’s one day pass to the Shedd Aquarium! Tickets are just $18 for adults, $12 for children and free for children under age 3.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be visiting Navy Pier for the 14th anniversary of the Winter WonderFest. Celebrate with Santa during this magical event where a professional photographer will be there to take your picture! Admission is free; however, tickets for rides and attractions are required. You can meet Santa now through Dec. 24 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
