It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just days away! Last week we reported on 2012 table setting trends, and this week we want to share more ideas on how to add some flair to your Thanksgiving table.
- Be creative with place cards. Use free printable websites (such as Thanksgiving Printables.net or Pizzazzerie) and create ‘thankfulness’ cards that show what are you thankful for about each person at your dinner table.
- Create fun children’s placements. Want to keep the kids entertained while waiting for the turkey? You can print out Thanksgiving mazes, coloring pages or word searches that will keep your littlest ones busy.
- Create ‘thanks’ vases. Using empty bottles and vinyl letters, use six bottles to spell out the word “Thanks” and place the bottles on a fireplace mantle or table. Fill the bottles with seasonal decorative items, such as wheat.
- Create a ‘thanks’ tree using silk leaves and a wooden frame, both of which can be purchased at a craft store. Have guests use a Sharpie pen to write what they are thankful for on each leaf, then place the leaves in the frame and save it for future holidays.
How will you be decorating your Chicago new homes this Thanksgiving?
