Prepping your Chicago new home for a sale, or just want to change things up a little? Check out some DIY fall decor tips that are low-maintenance and easy on your wallet.
- Keep it earthy and natural. If you’re staging a home for an open house, you may not always have as much time as you’d like to prepare. Any type of natural decor, whether it’s hay, artificial pine cones or acorns look great when placed in a bowl on a kitchen or dining room table.
- Firewood is always a great bet. You can find it at most local supermarkets, so all you need to do is find a charming magazine rack or wicker basket that can hold a bundle of logs. Decorate a basket or rack with some ribbon or a rope for another easy fix!
- Gourd or pumpkin vases also make some great last minute staging options. Cut a hole that is large enough to fit a small handful of flowers.
- Use clear glass containers to hold artificial candles, and make the candles more ‘fall-like’ by decorating the container with seasonal items such as popcorn kernels or candy corn.
