Chicago Residents are Hot and We Know It!

We’re so vain, we probably think this Chicago real estate post is about us.
And, well, it is.
LivingSocial website has rated Chicago as the No. 2 most vain major city in the country.
The site conducted a local trends survey of more than 4,000 respondents in 20 cities, asking each participant to rate themselves on looks along a scale of 1-10.
The survey found that most Americans think of themselves as above average in looks, with one in three rating themselves an 8, 9 or 10 and more than half saying they deserve at least a 7.
Chicago residents obviously think they are hot stuff, because our city ranked as the second vainest city in the nation.
Only Miami came out as more egotistical.
Atlanta came in at No. 3; Philadelphia at No. 4 and Phoenix was No. 5.
Apparently, we don’t find our neighbors as attractive. More than half of the survey respondents says people in their city are overweight, only 46 percent agreed that women in their city are beautiful and only 36 percent believe the men in their city are handsome.
Cleveland came in as the most insecure major American city, followed by Dallas, Detroit, Denver and Minneapolis St. Paul.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, apparently, as long as the beholder is looking in a mirror at the time,” said LivingSocial local trends expert Amy Wolf. “When most Americans look at the people around them, however, they are less generous in their assessments. Little surprise that cosmetic procedures and spa treatments have become a personal oasis to escape from the looks-driven arms race around them.”
The survey talked about those treatments as well, asking participants whether they have had one or know someone who has had one over the past year.
