Buffalo Grove residents see SaturnIf you love stargazing outside of your new Chicago home, you won’t want to miss what’s about to take place tomorrow! On Friday, July 19, residents of Buffalo Grove will be able to see Saturn’s rings very clearly for the first time since 2006.
According to Corbis Blog, which provides readers with access to content form the world’s premier entertainment and film companies, the solar system will be backlit by the sun on Friday, making Saturn incredibly visible.
If you’re looking for places to enjoy the night sky Friday night, here are a few suggestions:

  • Head on out to Willow Stream Park to enjoy Hotel Transylvania and a great view of the night sky at their 54-acre outdoor theater with a 40-foot screen and surround sound. Concessions are available onsite, but you can also bring in outside food and drink, so grab your blanket and make plans to enjoy a movie under the stars.
  • If you want to listen to live entertainment while gazing up at Saturn, Winberie’s will be hosting their Gypsy Duo performance at 6:30 p.m., after which you can relax on the patio and look at up the sky.

Astronomy lovers are also invited to Astronomy Under the City Lights with the Lake County Astronomical Society on Friday, August 2 at 9 p.m. at Willow Stream Park. Several telescopes will be available for public viewing of the moon, Mars, Saturn, the Andromeda Galaxy, star clusters, double stars and more.
Friday night’s view of Saturn will certainly be a rare event, so make your plans to enjoy Mother Nature’s show near your Buffalo Grove new home!
