Not only is housing cheaper than other large cities, it is easy for Chicagoans to get around without a vehicle. According to Walkscore, the city is the fourth most walkable in the country and is also one of the most ‘bikeable’ cities, too.
Another great reason to move to the area is that a variety of up and coming neighborhoods in Chicago such as Old Town and Logan Square offer the perfect mix of walkability, great entertainment and nightlife, plus affordable housing.
