Bickford Senior Assisted Living In St. Charles Now Open

bickfordThe Chicago area has become a very lucrative market for senior assisted living in the United States.  According to the American Seniors Housing Association study “Seniors Housing Construction Trends Report 2008”, Chicago ranks first in  growth in this type of housing from 2002-2007.  The newly opened Bickford Assisted Living community in St. Charles is a reflection of local market demand for this type of housing.  The community consists of 76 total apartments with 12 dedicated to those with special memory-care needs, another fast growing service provided at these types of facilities.
With an entire generation of Baby-Boomers approaching retirement or already have done so, the market for senior assisted living housing is poised to gain even more momentum in the coming years.  When confronted with the difficult decision on what to do with an elderly relative or parent that does not need constant care but cannot care for themselves without some help, assisted living becomes a preferable option.   Sometimes, this can be the only option for families unable to provide care themselves.  However, assisted living can be quite expensive and many times out of reach for many families financially.
Bickford has many senior assisted living communities in the midwest region including Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.  The other Chicagoland area location is in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.  For additional information about senior living communities in the Chicago area, please see this Chicago Tribune article by Jane Adler.
